Brownback names Topeka city judge to Shawnee County District Court vacancy

Topeka Municipal Judge Jason Geier was chosen Friday by Gov. Sam Brownback to fill a vacancy on the Shawnee County District Court.

Geier, administrative judge for the municipal court, was selected to fill a slot created by retirement of Judge Rebecca Crotty.

“I am pleased to appoint Jason Geier,” Brownback said. “His experience makes him an excellent choice to serve Shawnee County.”

Prior to Geier’s service in Topeka’s municipal court, he worked as an assistant district attorney in Shawnee County. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and a law degree at Washburn University.
