WU’s Jacob Klemz wins MIAA cross country championship

Washburn’s Jacob Klemz captured the individual title in the MIAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Warrensburg, Mo.

Klemz won the race in 25:20.83, more than five seconds ahead of second-place finisher. The Ichabod men finished eighth as a team.

Led by a 10th-place finish by Sierra Mortensen, the Washburn women finished sixth.

The Ichabods will compete next in the NCAA Regional Championships on Nov. 4 in Kearney, Nebraska.
