Washburn soccer scores season-high 3 goals in win against SBU

BOLIVAR, Mo. — The Washburn women’s soccer team (7-4-1, 3-2-0 MIAA) scored a season-high three goals to beat Southwest Baptist 3-1 on Sunday.

The Bearcats (2-9-1, 0-5-0) scored first on a goal by Reagan Edwards in the fourth minute, but Washburn rebounded in the second half with the equalizer by Paige Swanson. MacKenzie Heiman scored her first goal of the season to bring the Bods up 2-1 before Emily Stauffer hit the final goal in the 69th minute.

The Ichabods will return to action at 7 p.m. Friday against Lindenwood in St. Charles, Mo.
