Flott’s career night highlights ESU women’s 84-67 win over SBU

EMPORIA — The Emporia State women’s basketball team rolled past Southwest Baptist, 84-67, behind a career night from senior forward Kathryn Flott on Thursday night in White Auditorium.

 

The Olpe native totaled 31 points and 19 rebounds, both career highs, as the Hornets improved to 22-4 overall and 13-4 in the MIAA.

Flott went 12 of 19 from the field and 6 of 6 from the foul line.

Senior guard Kelly Moten added 24 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds while Addie Lackey chipped in 13 points.

ESU MEN 71, SBU 69 — Emporia State held off SBU in the closing seconds after the Bearcats rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit.

SBU had two chances to tie in the last 1o seconds of the game but couldn’t capitalize, as the Hornets improved to 13-13 overall and 9-8 in the MIAA.

Brandon Hall led ESU with 17.
