KDWPT to host prescribed fire workshop Sept. 12

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism will host a prescribed fire workshop beginning at noon Sept. 12 at Troy City Park, located at the intersection of Park and Myrtle streets in Troy.

Those who attend will learn how to use prescribed burns to manage their property, with topics ranging from planning burns to equipment to fire behavior and safety. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 11, and those who attend should wear leather boots and bring leather gloves. Other materials will be provided, as will lunch.
