Northeast Kansas youths will have a chance to learn more about fishing this spring — and possibly earn themselves a lifetime hunting or fishing license.
Fishing’s Future will host a Youth Aquatic Education Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 21 at Council Grove Lake’s Marina Cove.
Activities will include stations focused on fish identification, knot tying, electronics, water safety and regulations, as well as a casting activity, according to the event’s poster.
Organizer Phil Taunton said several prizes will be awarded, including a free lifetime hunting or fishing license in memory of Mike Williams and a $100 Abu Garcia Catfish Commando big cat rod and reel combo.
