Kansas Crappie Club unveils 2018 tournament schedule

The Kansas Crappie Club unveiled its 2018 tournament schedule this week.

 

All weigh-ins are at 2:30 p.m. and takeoff is at safe light. Team entry fees are $100, plus $25 for optional big fish award. There is no limit on the amount of anglers who can fish per boat, and each angler can have a maximum of three poles (permit required for three poles).

LAWRENCE

The tournament trail begins with a two-day season opener April 7-8 at Clinton Lake in Lawrence. Prizes will be awarded based on the two-day combined total, plus an optional big fish award for both days. Registration and weigh-in will be at Ramp No. 2. The event will benefit Kansas Special Olympics.

HILLSDALE

The second tournament will take place May 12 at Hillsdale Lake. Registration and the weigh-in will be at the Jayhawk Marina Ramp. Awards for first three places and optional big fish.

PERRY

The third tournament will take place June 16 at Perry Reservoir. Registration and the weigh-in will be at Jefferson Points Ramp. Awards for first three places and optional big fish.

VASSAR

The fourth tournament on the team trail will kick off July 7 at Pomona Lake. Registration and the weigh-in will be at Ramp No. 2. Awards for first three places and optional big fish.

EL DORADO

The fifth KCC tournament is slated for Aug. 4 at El Dorado Lake. Registration/weigh-in will be at the Sailboat Cove Ramp. Awards for first three places and optional big fish.

OSAGE CITY

Tournament No. 6 will be Sept. 1 at Melvern Reservoir. Registration/weigh-in will be at the state park’s west ramp. Awards for first three places and optional big fish.

MANHATTAN

The KCC’s seventh crappie tournament will be Oct. 13 at Tuttle Creek State Park. Registration and weigh-in are slated for the Stockdale Ramp. Awards for first three places and optional big fish.

JUNCTION CITY

This two-day tournament is a special event in honor of Veterans Day. The tourney will be Nov. 10-11 at Milford Reservoir. Registration/weigh-ins will be at Farnum Creek Ramp both days. Prizes will be awarded based on the two-day combined total, plus an optional big fish award for both days.

Upon completion of the final day’s weigh-in Sunday, a cash bonus will be awarded to the team that wins the Team of the Year points race. The KCC also will announce the winner of the Biggest Fish of the Year Award.

LAWRENCE

This event will be the fourth annual KCC Benefit Toy Drive. Registration/weigh-in at Ramp No. 2. Tournament takes place Dec. 1 on Clinton Reservoir, with a $40 registration cost and one toy donation per person required to enter. The toys will be given to Toys for Tots. A toy donation also is the entry fee for the big fish award. Cash from entry fees will be paid back 100 percent and split among top three teams. Big fish winner gets cash and prizes.
