K-State women roll past Chicago State, 99-51

MANHATTAN — Freshman guard Rachel Ranke scored a season-high 24 points with seven 3-point baskets to lead the Kansas State women to a 99-51 victory over Chicago State on Monday at Bramlage Coliseum.

 

Ranke came off the bench after starting the previous eight games. She knocked down 8 of 18 shots overall, 7 of 15 from 3-point range, to top her previous highs of 23 points and six 3-pointers.

The Wildcats (8-2) jumped on top early and rolled to a 30-point halftime lead to hand Chicago State, 0-13 this season, its 49th consecutive loss dating back to the 2015-16 season.

Peyton Williams posted her third career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Kayla Goth had a career-high 11 assists with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

Mary Lakes, a 6-4 freshman center, made her first career start for K-State, posting nine points and seven rebounds. Senior guard Karyla Middlebrook made her season debut after being sidelined with an ankle injury.

K-State concludes its nonconference schedule against Northern Iowa at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bramlage.
