PEORIA, Ill. — The Purple and Black team consisting of mainly former Kansas State basketball players, advanced with a 90-79 win over the Hilton Magic Legends in The Basketball Tournament on Sunday. Purple and Black began the game on a 10-0 run and never trailed in the victory.

Jacob Pullen led all players with 21 points while Shane Southwell and Curtis Kelly added 15. Dominique Sutton tied for a game-high 10 rebounds while Stefhon Hannah — a former Missouri guard and the only player on the team’s roster who did not play at K-State — recorded a game-high three steals.

Purple and Black’s next game will be in the Super 16 on July 22 at 1 p.m. against a team of Marquette alumni and will air on ESPN.
