Runners rout Hitmen for first win

The Topeka RoadRunners earned their first victory of the season by beating the Chicago Hitmen 8-1 on Friday at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minn.

Brian Christie had two goals for Topeka (1-2). Ben Bahe had a goal and three assists, and Kyle Sharkey had a goal and two assists.

Cory Ramsey, Julian Van Lijden, Austin Azurdia and Zach Schrotenboer also scored for the Runners. Ryan White and Chris Bond each had two assists.

Topeka concludes its stay at the NAHL Showcase with a 12:45 p.m. game Saturday against the Jamestown Ironmen (2-3).
