Payne, Bahr claim top-10 rankings for series

Cowen posts 38th men's 300; collegiate tournaments in Wichita

Late-season outings by Allen Payne, Chelsie Bahr and Josh Cowen yielded a trio of honor roll scores as the 2015-16 league bowling season neared its conclusion last week.

Payne moved into eighth place on the men’s leaderboard with a 279-259-266 – 804 series a week ago Tuesday in the Gage Majors League at Gage Center Bowl. His previous best scores this season were 792 at Center and 790 at West Ridge Lanes, where the regular season wrapped up the week before last.

Bahr added to her collection of top-10 rankings with a 259-256-209 – 720 series — ranked sixth — in the Party Time League on Thursday morning at Center. Bahr holds the top two spots on the women’s honor roll with scores of 752 and 745 at Center, and owns five of the top 10 positions.

Cowen recorded the 38th men’s open league perfect game this season with a 300-225-201 – 726 performance Thursday night in the JPJ & Associates League at Center.

The seniors were led by Mike Granger (246 – 698) and Julie Turner (217 – 550), while John Baeten (233 – 855 for four games), Cody Mzhickteno (222 – 814 for four), Cayla Bortz (199 – 719 for four) and Whitney Prockish (222 – 583 for three games), paced the youth.
