Letter: Celebrating the United States of America

“Celebrating our country”

I was one of many people who attended the overflowing crowd at the Grace Cathedral’s July Fourth event. Many attendees sported the colors of our flag, and most waved the small flags given to everyone as we entered the sanctuary. The magnificent choir, the accompanying orchestra, the musical selections and the message brought by Melissa Jarboe all blended into a spirit-lifting tribute to this great country we proudly call home.

This annual event is an exuberant celebration of patriotic spirit, a must-attend for many in the community. For those who couldn’t attend, I encourage you to put it on your calendar for next year. Spending an hour with like-minded folks celebrating America won’t take that much out of your day, and you will leave with a renewed sense of patriotism and love for your country and its citizens. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
