A female driver who may have been under the influence was taken into custody by Topeka police Monday after crashing at S.W. 12th and Oakley Ave.

The incident was reported around 2:40 p.m.

The driver tried to run from the crash, but didn’t get very far, Topeka police Sgt. Jason Cooper said on the scene.

The vehicle may be linked to two other crashes in the vicinity. Police weren’t aware of any injuries, Cooper said.

An airbag in the silver Chevy passenger car had deployed and the rear window was broken.

Westbound traffic on S.W. 12th, which is one-way, was slowed and reduced to one lane.
