Topeka police were searching for a person wanted in connection with a break-in early Wednesday at a west-side laundromat.

Officers were sent around 5:30 a.m. to the Econ-O-Wash at 1710 S.W. Medford, where the break-in was reported.

A police officer could be seen speaking with a man inside the laundromat in the minutes after the incident was reported. According to Topeka police Lt. Colleen Stuart, the burglar kicked in the door to the business. Another person witnessed the burglar trying to take a TV, but wasn’t successful.

Additional details, including a suspect description, weren’t available as of early Wednesday afternoon.

The laundromat is located behind — or immediately south — of a Dairy Queen at S.W. 17th and Medford.
