Masked man robs west Topeka Kwik Shop at knife-point Thursday morning

Topeka police were looking for a masked man who robbed a west-side convenience store and gas station at knife-point early Thursday.


The robbery was reported at 4:26 a.m. at the Kwik Shop, 5700 S.W. 21st.

Police Lt. Andrew Beightel said a clerk inside the business reported a man armed with a knife entered the business and demanded money.

The man fled from the scene east on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police K-9 units responded to the scene and attempted to find the robber’s trail. No arrests had been reported as of 6 a.m.

The robber was described as a black male standing about 5 foot 6 and weighing about 150 pounds. The man wore dark clothing and had a mask covering his face.

No injuries were reported.
