Man suffers critical injuries after crashing motorcycle on U.S. Highway 75

Debris surrounded a motorcycle that left the highway and crashed, leaving its driver with critical injuries.


The incident was reported just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes of US-75 highway near US-24 highway.

An ambulance left the scene with its lights and sirens activated, Kansas Highway Patrol trooper Sean Swords said. The motorcyclist suffered critical injuries.

It’s unknown why the man went off the road. The motorcycle came to a stop in the median in between the north and southbound lanes of the highway.

One southbound lane of traffic was blocked while the incident was investigated.

The Kansas Highway Patrol and Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
