One person injured in overnight shooting in Topeka

A man said he was walking in the 5200 block of SW 15th when an unknown person shot him overnight. (Google Maps)

A man suffered gunshot injuries not considered to be life-threatening overnight and received treatment early Friday at a local hospital.

The Topeka Police Department said in a news release the victim arrived about 1 a.m. by private vehicle at the hospital.

The victim is an adult male, and said he was walking in the 5200 block of S.W. 15th when an unknown person shot him.

According to police, the victim didn’t describe the suspect or any related vehicles.

Topeka police are asking members of the public with information about this shooting to call the police department at 368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
