Topeka weather for Tuesday, Jan. 9. 2018: Highs in 50s for second day in a row

Another warm, sunny January day is on tap Tuesday in the Topeka area, as highs for the second day in a row should crack the 50-degree mark.

 

Look for highs approaching 60 degrees on Wednesday afternoon before a cold front rolls through the area, bringing with substantially lower temperatures and a chance for precipitation on Thursday.

Monday’s high reached 53 degrees in Topeka.

Thursday: A chance of drizzle and snow before 7 a.m., then a chance of snow. Patchy blowing snow between 8 a.m. and noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10. Blustery.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 28.
