Topeka police back in normal accident reporting procedures Monday

The Topeka Police Department has lifted the walk-in accident reporting phase and is returning to normal accident reporting procedures.

Police were in walk-in accident phase on Monday from about 4 a.m. to noon as some area roadways are reported to be slick.

During walk-in phase, police only investigate injury, hit-and-run or alcohol-related accidents or those that result in disabled vehicles.

Police were reporting some area overpasses and infrequently traveled roadways were slick on Monday morning.
