Crews put out vehicle fire early Thursday in East Topeka

A vehicle fire on the city’s east side kept Topeka Fire Department crews busy for a short time early Thursday.

The fire was reported at 2:48 a.m. in the 2400 block of S.E. Colonial. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and kept it from spreading, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.

Additional details, including the cause of the fire and an estimated dollar loss, weren’t immediately available.
