Topeka weather for Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017: Highs in upper-80s expected today

Another warm, late-summer day is on tap Wednesday in the Topeka area, as highs should reach the upper-80s this afternoon.

 

Highs Thursday, Friday and Saturday should make it to the lower 90s.

A chance for rain is in the forecast for both Friday and Saturday nights, continuing into Sunday, when highs should be a bit lower and reach only the mid-80s.

Here is the seven-day outlook from the National Weather Service office in Topeka:

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. South wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 90. South wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Breezy, with a south wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Friday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 91.

Saturday night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 83.

Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 62.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.

Monday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.
