Topeka weather for Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017: Mostly sunny with highs in 80s

Summer isn’t over yet, something that will be reflected in temperatures in the Topeka area this week.

 

Highs Tuesday should reach the mid-80s, then top out around 90 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Highs should drop a bit to the mid-80s by Sunday and Monday.

A chance for showers and thunderstorms enters the picture on Saturday and Sunday.

Here is the seven-day outlook from the National Weather Service:

Tuesday: Patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 90. South wind 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.

Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

Saturday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 84.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 62.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.
