Sunny skies, high of 82 expected for Saturday

Mostly sunny skies and a high near 82 are on tap for the capital city and northeast Kansas for Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka. Southeasterly winds at 5 miles per hour are also expected.

 

A partly cloudy sky with a low around 63 and winds from the southeast around 5 miles per hour becoming calm after midnight are expected Saturday night.

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. are in the forecast for Sunday along with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 82. Winds will be around 5 miles per hour from the southeast. A 20 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. is forecasted for Sunday night with a low around 65.

The rest of the week’s forecast according to the National Weather Service:

Monday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81.

Monday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 84.

Tuesday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87.

Wednesday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

Thursday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
