Injuries appear to be minor after apparent accidental shooting

A Topeka man drove himself to a local hospital with a gunshot wound Friday morning, police said.

Around 10:15 a.m. police responded to what was reported as an accidental shooting in the 4200 block of S.E. Ohio Court. However, the man had driven himself to a local hospital, police Lt. Jerry Monasmith said.

Monasmith said the man’s injuries appear to be minor, but officers were interviewing him at the hospital.
