Topeka History Guy video focuses on week minister Charles Sheldon published the Daily Capital

The Rev. Charles Sheldon was pastor of Topeka’s Central Congregational Church, and was world-famous as author of “In His Steps,” but became even more famous as a result of the week he spent editing The Topeka Daily Capital “as Jesus would have done it.” (Kansas State Historical Society)

Topeka Capital-Journal reporter Tim Hrenchir returns Thursday with another installment of Throwback Thursday with the History Guy. This time, Hrenchir narrates a short video about how Congregational minister Charles Sheldon received international recognition in March 1900 when he temporarily published The Topeka Daily Capital “as Jesus would.”
