Lawrence Police investigate armed robbery Thursday near KU

Lawrence Police are investigating an early Thursday morning armed robbery of a convenience store near the University of Kansas campus.

Just before 3 a.m. officers responded to the Circle K, 1802 West 23rd., where a man told police a masked man in dark clothes brandished a gun and demanded money. As the suspect was leaving the store, two women entered, and he demanded money from them as well. The man, who police have not identified, took and undisclosed amount of money and ran to the south, police said.
