Man, 87, killed Monday when his pickup truck collides with semi in southeast Kansas

An 87-year-old man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Crawford County in southeast Kansas, officials said.

The collision was reported at 8:38 a.m. Monday at US-69 highway and 640th Avenue in Arma.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a 2002 Dodge pickup truck was eastbound on 640th Avenue when it failed to yield to a 2010 Peterbilt semi-trailer that was northbound on US-69 highway. The vehicles collided in the intersection.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck, Fred F. Bogina, of Arma, was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said Bogina wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Peterbilt semi, Justin Eddie Horner, 27, of Kingman, was reported possibly injured. The patrol said Horner was wearing a seat belt.
