The Michigan Warriors and Bismarck Bobcats will begin a best-of-three play-in series to the Robertson Cup Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Landon Arena.
Admission to the game is free.
Game 2 will be Friday night at 7 p.m. If the series is tied after two games, a third “mini-game” will be played following Game 2 to decide the winner.
The mini-game will consist of one 20-minute period. If the score is tied at the end of the period, sudden-death overtime will follow.
The defending Robertson Cup champion Bobcats won the NAHL’s Central Division, while Michigan claimed the North Division.
The Warriors will be considered the home team by virtue of earning more points during the regular season (76) than Bismarck (67).
Robertson Cup play will start Tuesday.
In other NAHL news, Topeka RoadRunners forwards Michael Hill and Justin Hussar have been named to the North American Hockey League’s All-South Division Team.
Hill racked up 37 goals and 29 assists during the regular season, despite missing 15 games. The RoadRunners played the playoffs without Hill, who was sidelined by a concussion late in the regular season.
Hussar registered 33 goals and 33 assists in his first year in Topeka.
The Amarillo Bulls, who defeated the RoadRunners in the South Division Finals, also placed two players on the South team in goaltender Nikifor Szczerba and defenseman Derek Hills. Texas defenseman Ralfs Freibergs and Corpus Christi forward Beau Walker round out the Team.
