Nintendo Switch users can get a head start on the "Splatoon 2" Global Testfire demo by downloading it now from the Nintendo eShop.
The demo takes up just 408MB of space and will go live March 24-26.
"Splatoon 2" is a followup to the wildly successful Wii U title "Splatoon," a third-person shooter involving "Inklings" -- beings that can become either humanoid or squid -- where the object is to cover the game map in as much of your team's colored ink as possible. Weapons include ink guns, buckets and giant paint rollers, among other items.
The official release date for "Splatoon 2" hasn't yet been announced. Among the titles currently available in the American eShop are "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Fast RMX," two Shovel Knight titles, "Super Bomberman R" and the rhythm game "VOEZ". "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe," likely the next major title for the Switch, hits the system on April 28.
